Letter to Governor

I have sent the following email to Governor Schwarzenegger and request you do the same.

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger,

I am writing to ask you to veto AB962 and SB585. AB962 is particularly onerous and has been proven to be useless in other jurisdictions. AB962 is another anti-gun, anti-hunting step which caters to a strong voiced minority.

The federal registration of ammunition sales was put into place by the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA68). Record keeping for rifle and shotgun ammunition was repealed in December 1969. All record keeping requirements for retail ammunition sales were eliminated with the passage of the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986. The record keeping requirement was determined to have served no useful purpose in keeping ammunition out of the hands of ineligible persons or in providing information to investigators dealing with firearms incidents. There is no reason to believe that this has changed.

At a time when the State is in a near bankrupt position, the imposition of useless additional regulation should be avoided. SB585 is an assualt on a revenue generator for the State as well as the free expression of firearms providers and users.

Again, I respectfully request your veto on AB962 and SB585.

Dear Governor

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger,

Please veto the above mentioned bills regarding registration of ammuntion sales. This will deter any criminal from creating their act of violence and you and our government are fully aware of this it's about time we use our God given commen sense when passing some of these laws. This will not only not deter criminals it will create a black market for ammunition sales which inturn will create more crime. I ask you to please veto these bills and do what you know is the right thing to do.
