Jeremy is currently a police officer with over 13 years experience and has spent 13.5 years in the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Reserve. During his law enforcement career he has worked in patrol, narcotics, field training, has served as a firearms instructor at the Police Academy, and is currently assigned to a specialized unit within the Counter Terrorism Bureau. Throughout his service in the Corps, Jeremy has been deployed all over the world in support of the Global War on Terror. While on a combat tour in Iraq, he earned a Bronze Star with a Combat "V" for valor.
Jeremy also brings to FTA his extensive background in Judo, Wrestling, the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, and Police Defensive Tactics. He has been training in Krav Maga for over 10 years and is a certified expert level instructor and is currently the Lead Instructor at Simi Valley Krav Maga.
This class will teach you how to handle volatile situations with a positive outcome. Of course we always prefer to avoid a bad situation, however there are those times it is just not possible. Whether you are at work, or at a ball game, sometimes stuff just happens. This class will teach us to use what ever is available at the time to protect ourselves and family.

The course teaches the student how to effectively and safely utilize a pistol or revolver. This class saturates the student with the fundamentals through repetition to create "muscle memory" or an instinctive response. Upon completion of the course, the student should be proficient with:
+ Safety rules and procedures
+ Handling the gun
+ Drawing from a holster in a tactical and rapid manner
+ Malfunction drills (i.e., instinctively assessing and rapidly correcting problems with the handgun)
+ Loading and unloading
+ Engaging targets at conversational distances
+ Mindset of situational awareness and mental conditioning as applied to handgun use
Equipment: (Equipment can be provided, upon request in advance)
+ Eye and ear protection
+ Ammunition carrying apparatus
+ 2 magazines or 1 speed loader
+ Shirt with sleeves
+ Ammunition - 400 rounds minimum
