Survive the Collapse: Urban Bug-In / Bug-Out Preparedness

When systems fail and daylight fades, most people become vulnerable. This intensive overnight course is built for serious civilian students who refuse to be among them. Drawing from proven operational methods and adapted for the real constraints of Southern California urban and suburban life, the training runs through the hours of darkness so you learn, and practice how to see, move, decide, and fight when visibility is at its lowest… and uncertainty is at its highest.

You will master the critical choice between defending in place and moving under pressure, while applying grey-man principles that keep you from becoming a target. The curriculum covers realistic layered kits optimized for limited storage and high population density, urban-adapted evasion and short-term sustainment skills. We will cover the effective employment of pistol and carbine from fixed positions and on the move in both day and low light conditions. Every block is filtered through the actual advantages and disadvantages of dense housing, locked freeways, neighbor visibility, and the rapid competition for resources that define our region during emergency situations.

By the end of the course, you will leave with sharper decision making capabilities, a refined personal or family plan for both bug-in and bug-out requirements, and the practical confidence that comes from training when most others are asleep. This is not theory or range recreation, it is professional, no-nonsense preparation for the moments when the lights go out and ordinary systems no longer protect you. Space is extremely limited, come prepared with everything that you need in order to sustain for a 16 hour, overnight practical training course.

By the end of 16 hours students will be able to:

- Conduct a rapid, practical assessment and correctly choose between bug-in and bug-out under incomplete information.

- Evaluate and improve a residence or fixed position for defensive use within the limits of urban housing.

- Build and refine a layered urban kit system (EDC → Get-Home → Vehicle → limited Bug-Out → Home Sustainment) optimized for weight, signature, and regional realities.

- Apply grey-man principles to clothing, behavior, load carriage, and movement so they do not become a target of opportunity.

- Employ pistol and carbine from fixed positions and while moving, including low-light conditions and transitions under stress.

- Execute deliberate or emergency departure while managing traffic failure, vehicle abandonment, and continued movement on foot.

-Use practical urban-adapted bushcraft (short-term shelter/hide sites, water procurement and purification, field weapon maintenance, basic navigation) that supports continued effectiveness.

-Manage limited ammunition, basic trauma care, and decision-making while fatigued or under pressure.
