General Shotgun
This course teaches the student how to effectively and safely utilize a shotgun. Upon completion of this course, the student should be proficient with:
+ Fundamentals of shooting a shotgun
+ Ammunition selection and management
+ Patterning
+ Zones of fire
+ Understanding the characteristics of buckshot, birdshot, and slugs
+ Indoor and outdoor firing positions
+ Weapon retention (i.e., how to keep your weapon from being taken by an attacker)
+ Close Quarters Conflict
+ Sling use, mounting from a slung position
Equipment: (Equipment can be provided, upon request in advance)
+ Eye and ear protection
+ Service/duty type shotgun with sling
+ Ammo pouch (to carry loose ammo on your body)
Ammunition:
+ 100 rounds birdshot
+ 25 rounds buckshot
+ 25 rounds slug
*****We will break for a one hour lunch. You can bring your own food or leave the range and eat somewhere local*****
