**THIS IS AN ADVANCED COURSE. STUDENTS MUST HAVE TAKE P.R.T.E. FUNDAMENTALS & SKILL BUILDER I PRIOR TO THIS COURSE**
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- RIFLE
-
- Have a serviceable bolt action rifle or gas gun.
- Rifle should be equipped with a bipod and preferably have the ability to accept a sling.
- 3-5 Magazines if applicable
- You should also have a proper 100M or 100Y zero prior to coming to the class.
- AMMUNITION
- 250 ROUNDS of quality ammunition is highly recommended. Match grade is preferred, hand loads are also acceptable. Make sure that you have enough of the same type of ammunition to complete the course. If you switch ammunition type, weight or manufacturer, you will have to re-zero. We will not have that ability once we start moving further away from the 100 yard line.
- PERIPHERAL EQUIPMENT
- OBSERVATION: A quality spotting scope or set of binoculars is highly recommended. This will allow for more time shooting and less time stopping to check targets. 20X minimum low end power for spotting scopes and 10X for binoculars is recommended, along with a sturdy tripod system.
- SHOOTING AIDES: Please bring your Kestrels, Wether Flow meters, Ballistic Calculators, Shooting Tripod, Stability Bags, Rangefinders, Chronographs and/or any other equipment that you might want to use for the course.
- HEARING PROTECTION:A good set of electronic hearing protection is recommended.
- COMFORT GEAR:Shooting mats, knee pads, elbow pads, sand socks and rifle bags are recommended if you want to be comfortable shooting in various positions. Another recommended piece of equipment is a chair. There are some tables to sit at but we have a few scenarios that will require you to spot for a partner. A chair will be more comfortable and ideal for spotting trace. Bring an EZ-Up if you want as well.
- TOOLS & USER MANUALS:Please bring any tools and manuals that are specific to your rifle or scope. While we maintain a fair amount of tools, we might not have everything for your specific weapon system. Having your user manual and any specific tools for your platform handy will speed up our ability to assist you.
- FOOD & WATER:Food & Water are the student's responsibility for this course. The weather is nice this time of year, but we recommend you stay hydrated and bring plenty of liquids. We understand that some of our students may have specific dietary needs. Please feel free to bring any food or water that you like. We encourage students to eat as they need too as long as it does not disturb the class. We will have a short lunch break mid day.
- FIRST AID:We will provide a standard First Aid Kit for use as needed. If you have any specific personal needs (EPIPEN, Etc.) please bring it. Don’t forget about any medications that you might require as well.
**This is a two-day course, dates to run consecutively**
